ABOUT THE TRAINER

Director of International Initiatives

Simeon Brodsky is the director of CTY International. As director, he furthers CTY International’s mission to identify and develop bright young people throughout the world and connect both students and practitioners to their global peers. Simeon draws on his background in university-level teaching and 25 years of experience in gifted education to enhance learning opportunities for bright students. In his current position, he worked with more than 15 countries, serving in different capacities. He developed and delivered teacher training in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia; launched programs in Egypt, Greece, Kuwait, and Malaysia; provided technical assistance in Kazakhstan and Thailand; served as a consultant to CTY Ireland and the Czech Republic; opened CTY’s office in Hong Kong, and worked with Mawhiba in Saudi Arabia on its efforts to improve program quality. Simeon was a keynote speaker, panelist, and presenter at international gifted education conferences. Prior to being named director of CTY International, Simeon worked in CTY’s domestic Summer Programs. In his position as a senior program manager, he supervised multiple residential and commuter programs in the USA; students at those sites ranged from 2–12 grade. Additionally, he led efforts in program development, research, and evaluation; developed programs in China and Spain; collaborated with Northwestern University to co-found CTY’s Civic Leadership Institute; and directed a CTY program in Nanjing.
