Elementary School Reading: Students are encouraged to read for pleasure everyday. Join the Summer Reading Challenge!

Items required for school

  • Daily healthy snack from home
  • School Campus Card to purchase lunch (grades 1  - 5) 
  • Sun-hat – students are required to wear a hat in the sun
  • Water bottle 
  • School bag – large enough to carry an A4 folder (stationery is supplied by school)
  • Waterproof library bag (for Discovery to Grade 1 available at The School Shop)
  • PE uniform – UNIS Hanoi shirt and shorts (PE 3 times/week)
  • House Animal shirt (for Sports Days)
  • Swimming gear – for swim unit in PE (one piece suit for girls, swim shorts for boys, towel, cap and goggles)
  • Microphone (Kindergarten 2 - Grade 5 available at The Shop)
  • Change of clothes – for younger children
  • Performance attire – Black trousers/skirt, a UNIS Hanoi Performance Polo and black shoes.
  • National attire – On United Nations Day (October 18) students are encouraged to wear something representing your “national” dress or clothes from a place where you have lived.

Middle School Reading: Students are encouraged to read for pleasure everyday. Join the Summer Reading Challenge!

  • School Campus Card
  • School bag 
  • Water bottle 
  • Stationery such as pencils, pens, highlighters and a calculator should be provided from home
  • Grades 6-8 students require a Casio scientific calculator (available at The School Shop)
  • PE Uniform – UNIS Hanoi PE shirt and shorts (PE 2-3 times/week)
  • House Animal shirt (for Sports Days)
  • Swimming gear – for swim unit in PE (one piece suit for girls, swim shorts for boys, towel, cap and goggles)
  • Performance attire – Black trousers/skirt, a white UNIS Hanoi Performance Polo and black shoes.
  • National attire – On United Nations Day (October 18) students are encouraged to wear something representing your “national” dress or clothes from a place where you have lived.

*Note: MS students will be given a school tablet during student orientation. When entering HS, all students in Grades 9-12 are required to bring a computer of their choice to school to meet their learning needs.

Students entering Grades 9 - 12 have summer reading assignments recommended to be completed by the start of school.

  • School Campus Card
  • School bag
  • Water bottle
  • Personal computer of choice to school to meet learning needs (Bring your own device information including device requirements). Note: HS students required to bring personal device to Orientation on August 13.
  • Stationery such as pencils, pens, highlighters and a calculator should be provided from home. 
  • Grades 9-12 students require the TI-Nspire CX  calculator available at The School Shop. (Note: TI-Nspire CAS model NOT accepted by IB).
