UN Day 2013 Celebration

It was a carnival of culture and learning with the UN Day Assembly as its centre-piece with its wonderful Flag Parade celebrating the 65 nationalities represented in our community. Enjoy the photos and a film!


UNIS Hanoi Scholarship expands for 14-15

Reel Youth were back and more films were made!

At the start of the school year, students engaged in a series of workshops with the media organisation Reel Youth to help them develop skills in leadership and film-making whilst telling stories to support the Service Learning programme. Enjoy this series of film created by Grade 11 students.

APAC Volleyball success at UNIS Hanoi!

This weekend, UNIS Hanoi hosted the 2013 APAC Volleyball Championships. It was a wonderful tournament with teams from six international schools battling it out for the title.

Birthday gift fund - we want ideas from alumni!

Service Learning often provides our alumni with their strongest memories of UNIS Hanoi. Our Birthday Gift Fund is currently in the community consultation phase of how to spend the money… and we want to hear from our alumni. We do not expect full and formal proposals – we want ideas, suggestions and thoughts on programs, projects and/or partners.

Alumni Back on Campus

Karla Laursen (Class of 2015) and Henriette Laursen (Former Parent) Karla (Class of 2015) and Henriette Laursen (Former Parent)
Grant McCool and Susan Wood (Former Parents) Grant McCool and Susan Wood (Former Parent) came back with Mariella (Class of 2017) who had a "back to UNIS" school day with Lulu and other friends from 5 years ago. Mariella said it was a "really great" day and that she will definitely return again.
Charlie Porter (Class of 2013) At the start of this school year, before heading for university Charlie Porter (Class of 2013) had a week of work experience in Elementary school. The week was completed with a song performance at the ES Friday student assembly, where Charlie demonstrated musical warm up activities and shared about her passion in creative writing. Charlie also volunteered in the Advancement Office to "save" the star decorations for UN Day.
Edwin van Olst (Former Faculty) Edwin van Olst (Former Faculty) came to visit promised to keep us updated on his future exciting adventures, so watch this space!
Shashi Forrester (Former Parent) Shashi Forrester (Former Parent) came back to visit for the first time after nearly 20 years. Her return was no trip down memory lane - such have been the changes. Yet Shashi discovered that the traditional UNIS activities from 20 years ago are still there, the Bake Sale, Used Book Fair, Community Lunch (then called the International Food Fair), as well as the same UNIS community spirit that makes UNIS so special.
