Register Now for our Free and Flexible Summer Programme
Posted 18/05/2020 08:59AM

Parents can now register their child onto the School's Free Summer Programme. Exclusively for UNIS Hanoi students, this year's programme is designed to be fun-filled and stimulating. Seventy teachers, together with teaching assistants and student leaders have volunteered to offer sessions for students of all ages. There's also a bonus trip for the more adventurous Middle Schoolers – a 5-day outdoor educational trip to Ninh Binh!

The Summer Programme will run for four weeks, commencing on June 15 to July 10.

On Offer to Elementary School Students

Families with Elementary School students will have the option of registering their child for one week, two or three weeks, or for the entire four weeks. Students in Grades 1 to 5 will be able to enjoy STEAM classes, movement and games, dance, music, as well as arts and crafts. Math and literacy classes will also be on offer, while children who speak English as a Second Language will be pulled out of class and given specialized instruction throughout the week. Students in Discovery up to Kindergarten 2 will have free reign of the Early Childhood Centre, where they'll play educational games, cook and socialize with their friends.

Elementary School sessions will run from Mondays to Fridays, 08:30 to 15:20, however parents also have the option to register for half-days and collect their child straight after lunchtime, once the teacher has been notified ahead of time.

What's more, Elementary School students will enjoy lunch and transportation, absolutely free of charge!

On Offer to Middle and High School Students

Middle and High School students are also in for a treat! Their teachers are offering almost 100 phenomenal Passion Pursuits for them to try their hands at. If your child has ever wanted to create a Podcast, learn how to breakdance, do some woodwork or want to get ahead in the SATs and Extended Essay, now's the chance! And there's even more flexibility available to our older kids. They can book one two-hour session a week or pack their entire week with activities – the choice is completely theirs. And just like the Elementary School students, they can commit to one week or all four! Students have been sent the full array of offerings by email. Free snacks and transportation to and from school is included.

Passion Pursuit sessions will run from Mondays to Fridays, 08:30 to 15:30.

An Outdoor Education Field Trip to Ninh Binh!

For Middle Schoolers who love the great outdoors, four faculty members, including the School nurse, will head to Ninh Binh with them from June 22 to June 26.

The team is promising a week of 'wild learning', during which students are certain to develop new skills such as fishing, fire-building, paddle boarding (SUP), nature sketching, survival first aid, wildlife identification and cooking!

What's more, there will be opportunities to hike and bike. The group will depart UNIS Hanoi at 08:00 on Monday June 22 and return to the School at 16:00 on Friday June 26.
