Security Enhancement
Posted 15/06/2018 03:56PM

Dear UNIS Hanoi Community,

As the school year comes to an end, I wish you all a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. While you are away, we will be making several changes to the campus. The most obvious one will be the removal of the construction fencing as we pause our Campus Development Project. We will begin the 2018-2019 school year using our new facilities. In fact, both the new teacher and new family orientation will take place in our Multi-Use Learning Facilities above the new cafeteria. You will return to a campus that is filled with vegetation and open spaces and we will celebrate the back to school bar-b-q in our new space.

Another noticeable change will be our enhanced security protocols. As a result of several factors such as the desire to be a leader in international school standards for the protection of children, the results of an external safety and security audit, and the delay in the next phase of our build project, we are making some procedural changes. UNIS Hanoi has hired a Security Manager who will be charged with training our new guard force on enhanced security measures.

UNIS Hanoi has also recently gone through the bid process and selected a new security company which provides most of our guards. Beginning in August, we will ensure that every visitor on campus is wearing a badge. The operations department will be available at the beginning of the year to ensure that any member of your family or household staff is able to obtain one. Visitors who do not have a badge will be required to leave proper identification at the guards’ desk at the Main Gate. Without identification, campus entry will not be allowed.

There will be other changes along with this one and we will send out further communication in the new school year as well as offer community sessions to ensure that everyone is updated on the new procedures. We hope that you understand that the safety of the students and staff is our number one priority.

Have a good summer break and we will look forward to seeing you back in August.

Regards,

Misty Shipley
Director of Finance and Operations
