The Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who attended the Board Community meeting on Wednesday November 15.

Board Chair Nguyen Van Hieu introduced the 2017-2018 Board members and briefly outlined Board goals for the year.

Campus Development Task Force Chair Barry Knaggs provided details on completed Phase 3A buildings (central chiller, covered courts) and the anticipated completion dates in December for the Dining Hall/Elementary wing and Artificial turf pitch. Occupation approval certificates are due before Tet. Phase 3B is currently being re-phased due to onsite access changes. The Board will consider the impact of the rescheduling on the approved budget to determine the best course of action. Full details of the new schedule will be provided once approved by the Board.

Treasurer Bob Hughes provided a complete financial update including details of environmental scans and benchmarking analysis used to determine the budget for 2018-2023. Included in the budget is a proposed tuition fee increase of 5% for the 2018-2019 school year. Capital Fees will remain the same next year but an increase of $500-1000 is anticipated for the 2019-2020 school year.

Ngo Thi Quynh Hoa provided a summary of the Scholarship Programme to date and the launch of the Dr Charles Barder Scholarship this year to celebrate the legacy of our long serving much loved Head of School.

The Community exercise was led by Board Chair and considered the beliefs and aspirations of the UNIS Hanoi Reputation in the community. Collected data will be forwarded to administration.
