For A Healthy 2017-2018!
Posted 25/08/2017 06:05PM

Welcome to the 2017-2018 UNIS School Year!

The nurses in the School Health Centre would like to say welcome to all our new students and families, and welcome back to all our returning families. We have a very exciting year in front of us.

The School Health Centre Staff would like to extend a few kind reminders:

  • All students are required to have their Medical Package updated every three years. If you received an email from the School Health Centre regarding updates and have not returned them to us please do so as soon as possible. These forms reflect any student health changes but also has an updated consent form for our school health records.
  • We are currently reviewing records for any and all updated immunisations. If your student has had any updates in the past few years please send a copy of the updated records to nurse@unishanoi.org. UNIS Hanoi follows the CDC Guidelines for immunisations. These guidelines provide the best protection for our students, staff and community. Immunisations defend against disease that can easily affect our UNIS Hanoi Community.
  • UNIS Hanoi policy for sick children- If your child is sick with vomiting or fever. Please keep them at home and notify the school. It is imperative that the child remain at home for 24 hours after the fever and/or vomiting has stopped. They must not have had any form of fever reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to class.
  • Hand hygiene is strongly encouraged at UNIS Hanoi to prevent illness transmission. We ask that you help us by encouraging your child to wash hands with soap and water frequently. Here in Vietnam there is no flu season, it is a yearlong process and the best way to reduce transmission of flu or any other illness is by encouraging strict and thorough hand washing.

Due to the Dengue outbreak in Vietnam, we recommend parents to spray insect repellent on your children before school daily.

The School Nurses are looking forward to a safe and healthy school year. Please feel free to call or email us at any time if you have any questions or concerns. Email: nurse@unishanoi.org
