Library Media Centre
The UNIS Hanoi Library is a comfortable place for the community to read and learn, collaborate and create. UNIS Hanoi students, faculty, staff and families are encouraged to visit the library where they may access our extensive multi-language collection of print and digital resources for their information and recreational needs.
UNIS Hanoi community members can access our library and online resources, including electronic books and magazines and academic subscription databases. The Library provides a virtual space through our Libguides which allows students 24/7 access to materials to facilitate and learning and curated resource collections for special subjects and assessment tasks.
The library instructional programme focuses on the core pedagogical activities of:
- Literacy and reading promotion;
- Media and information literacy;
- Inquiry-based learning;
- Technology integration;
- Professional development for teachers; and
- Appreciation of literature and culture
The UNIS librarians recognize the importance of having a systematic framework for the teaching of media and information skills, and they contribute to the enhancement of students’ skills through collaborative work with teachers. (IFLA School Library Guidelines, 2015)

Overdue Notices and Lost/Damaged Materials
As responsible members of the UNIS Hanoi community, library users are expected to return borrowed materials within the loan period and in the same condition in which the materials were borrowed, so that the materials are available for other users.
In the Elementary School, students receive paper notices and/or emails directly to the parent or guardian via the Veracross entered email address; in Middle & High School overdue notices are sent via the student’s UNIS Hanoi email account. No overdue fees are charged, but lost, damaged and unreturned items will be billed at cost of the item plus shipping and processing charges.
Volunteers are welcome at the UNIS Hanoi Library. We especially need parent partners to help us with our World Language collection; we also appreciate parents who volunteer to help out with special programming, bulletin boards, shelving, and more!
Parents and students interested in volunteering should contact the library staff.
