Students Put Impact Fund into Action – “Adopt-A-Plant”!

Our Elementary Students have proudly launched the first community activity for our new UNIS Hanoi Botanical Garden… Adopt-a-plant!

In November, the ES Student Council started planning their initiative to help promote the UNIS Botanical Garden project – one of two GOALS that the Impact Fund is currently fundraising for this year.

With this new programme, 32 beautiful and healthy potted plants donated by Long Tran (Grade 12) and his father, Mr Thanh Tran for UNIS Botanical Garden project became adoption choices for ES classes – a great way of bringing some nature indoors as well as learning from these plants. Many classes sent in applications expressing their enthusiasm and explaining the creative ways that they would commit to looking after their adopted plants: making sure they stay healthy; giving it a name; being kind to it; reading and singing to it; teaching it about the SDGs…

Thanks to the work of the ES Students Council and the commitment of many classes, 21 plants have found their new loving homes and been delivered to classrooms this week. This initiative certainly sets a strong foundation for the UNIS Botanical Garden project and we look forward to sharing updates about the plants’ progress from our Botanical Garden Guardians and Ambassadors in the coming weeks.

Students have told us what they dream of: a campus with a Botanical Garden and a campus powered by Solar Power. Please show your support by making a donation to the UNIS Impact Fund campaign which is raising funds to implement these two projects at UNIS Hanoi. Both projects need your support. Help us hit our participation goals by Tết so we can celebrate a community united in support of student dreams and put the projects into action!
