1. Who can make a gift to UNIS Hanoi?
Everyone can give! Fundraising at UNIS Hanoi is about what we can achieve when we all work together as a community.
Our primary goal is to mobilize our own direct UNIS Hanoi community: students, parents, faculty, alumni and corporate and community partners.
However, we also accept gifts from those outside of our School community who are inspired by the Mission and Vision of our School and who want to contribute as a Friend of the School.
We celebrate all gifts as philanthropic acts of generosity.
2. Can my gift be anonymous?
We respect any donor’s request for anonymity. In this case, the gift will still be recorded internally for the purposes of institutional fiscal transparency, but will be attributed in reports as “Anonymous”. In all cases, the option for the gift to be anonymous will be made clear at the time of giving.
3. Is there a tax advantage available from my donation to UNIS Hanoi?
There is no tax advantage associated with donations in Vietnam. UNIS Hanoi has been able to partner with Give2Asia to provide tax receipts for US taxpayers to take advantage of tax benefits in their home country. The School continues to explore ways to make tax efficient giving possible in the future.
4. Fundraising Policy
UNIS Hanoi is committed to transparency, respect for our donors and ethical fundraising.
In line with UN policy, UNIS Hanoi adopts an exclusion criteria and will not accept gifts from private sector partners or individuals that are involved in: “Human rights abuses, tolerate forced or compulsory labour or the use of child labour, are involved in the sale or manufacture of anti-personnel landmines or cluster bombs…. Business Sector entities violating sanctions established by the UN Security Council.” (UN Secretariat November 2009)
UNIS Hanoi has developed comprehensive operating regulations and School Policy to protect the reputation of the School and the Rights of the Donor.
Please note that no Admission priority is accorded to donors or their families.
