From the Head of School

Think about a task/challenge you just experienced in one of your courses/subjects. How did you approach the challenge, what choices did you make, and how did your ideas change along the way? Challenges are part of learning, and, of course, they are part of life. We do not always get to choose the circumstances we encounter. We do, however, get to choose how we meet them

Final Call: Share Your Big Idea Before 9 October

In 2019, student Arahat Chikkatur (Class of 2025) looked up at our rooftops and asked a simple question: what if we used solar power on campus? That Big Idea proposal sparked a major campus transformation. Rooftop solar panels across our school buildings now generate roughly 20% of our daily electricity needs.

Now we want to hear from you.

[Alumni Spotlight] Meet Our First “Double Phoenix”

CheonSub Sim ('00) dreamed of his kids attending UNIS Hanoi, but long waitlists posed a hurdle. In 2012, he proposed a priority enrollment policy for alumni children, leading to his son Jake becoming UNIS Hanoi’s very first "Double Phoenix" in 2019. During a recent campus visit, CheonSub reconnected with legendary staff members Phi, Huong, and Pho, who shaped his student years, and caught up with Head of School Dr Elizabeth Gale. Watch the video and hear his reflections on legacy, belonging, and what it means to come home to UNIS Hanoi.

UNIS Hanoi Campus Card

At the start of the school year, we launched our new UNIS Hanoi Campus Card payment system, replacing the previous payment platform. Designed to provide a seamless cashless experience, the new system integrates directly with your existing UNIS Hanoi ID cards and allows you to manage funds, track activity, and set family controls via the UNIS Hanoi Campus Card Portal.

Following the launch, we received valuable feedback and questions from parents regarding top-up options, transaction fees, shared family balances, and spending limits. To help clarify how the system works and address common concerns, we have compiled the detailed FAQ guide here.

Elementary School News

This week's Elementary School Conferences gave us another chance to pause and celebrate with our students. It was lovely to see families and teachers come together to recognise each child’s progress, talk about what excites them and consider how we can support their next steps. Thank you for sharing your insights with us. You know your children in ways we cannot see at school, and that partnership helps us understand and celebrate them more fully. As we head into Autumn Break, I hope they have a chance to pause and feel proud of how far they’ve come. Read more
