About Gaia

To reap a return in ten years, plant trees. To reap a return in a hundred years, cultivate the people.

Our Community, Our Planet, Our Future

Gaia is an immersive and breathtaking artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram brought to UNIS Hanoi by the generous gift from LPBank.

In Greek Mythology Gaia is the personification of the Earth. As an institution committed to global citizenship and care for the earth, our school has long recognised the importance of equipping students with the knowledge and skills to become responsible stewards of the environment. Measuring 7m in diameter and created from detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface, the artwork provides the opportunity to see our planet, floating in three dimensions.

As it slowly revolves, immerse yourself in a specially composed surround sound piece by BAFTA award winning Composer Dan Jones.

A Call to Action

Gaia is more than an exhibition—it is a movement. A call to action for our school community and beyond. This event represents our commitment to fostering environmental awareness, inspiring change, and taking tangible steps towards a more sustainable future. Our students, educators, and partners have come together to create an immersive experience that highlights the beauty of our planet, the urgency of conservation, and the power of collective action.
