In Memoriam: Clemence Barbier

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we share the passing of Clemence Barbier, who served as the beloved French teacher for our Elementary students at UNIS Hanoi from 2004 to 2015. Clemence passed away on 12 May 2025 at 5:00 AM in Paris, surrounded by her family and partner, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Clemence was a cherished educator whose kindness, humour, and passion for teaching left a lasting impression on many. Her ability to connect with children and ignite joy in learning made her a treasured part of the UNIS Hanoi experience for over a decade.

We know many in our alumni community—former students, colleagues, and parents—will remember Clemence with affection and gratitude. We send our deepest sympathies to her family and to all who knew and loved her.
