Visiting Artist inspires Grade 9 Artists

Grade 9 students had the great fortune of working in person with artist Hà Minh, who is a key artist for their current unit My Life In Color. The artist's still life paintings are a source of inspiration for grade 9 artists as they compose their own still life painting while considering aesthetics to create mood or feeling. Hà Minh brought in paintings from her personal collection to share and discuss the formal qualities. She shared how she uses art to express her identity. She guided students through an exploratory acrylic painting experience using plants as a subject and a limited color pallet.
