UNISMUN: Leading Forward & Setting Sail!

A huge congratulations to our M2026 delegates! Preparations are officially underway, and this is just the start of what’s to come. On Tuesday, 13 January 2026, the UNISMUN leadership team got the amazing opportunity to attend an inspiring MasterClass led by Dr Gale, our Head of School, on student leadership. “Leading Forward” highlighted that leaders are always teaching through the patterns of choices they make, and how their actions set the tone for others. Every leader, she noted, will eventually face moments where external pressures collide with their personal values, the ultimate test of leadership! Dr Gale asked us to consider two questions: What values do you hope people feel when they are around you? and What values do you want your leadership to stand for?

At Thursday’s General Meeting, delegates focused on strengthening their country’s research skills. They worked on understanding their nation’s stance on global issues and learned how to navigate debate in a way that accurately reflects national interests, a foundational skill for effective UNISMUN participation. 

Additionally, they also started their opening speeches as the March 2026 conference approaches.  Meanwhile, excitement is building as BEIMUN travelers prepare to set sail soon for their conference at the International School of Beijing from 22-26 January 2026. Today, they finalized their draft resolutions as they learn more about their travelling schedule. Chairs learned about the basic procedures and motions for debates for each and every individual committee. Lastly, our Admins and Media Marketing teams were hard at work doing their respective jobs. For the Media department, it was finishing up the delegate photoshoots, planning new podcasts, and working towards pushing out new posters for the M26 conference. For Admins, they had a tiring yet exciting day at work where they learned about committees and prepared for the conference by making posters!

With the March 2026 UNISMUN Conference coming very soon on 12 – 14 March, preparations are gaining momentum! Everyone’s hard work never goes unnoticed in UNISMUN!
