UNISMUN First ever Stand-alone Middle School Conference was a Success!

On 12-13 April, last weekend, UNIS Hanoi had the pleasure of hosting the UNISMUN April 2025 Middle School Conference (watch our closing ceremony video HERE). With 4 schools in attendance and 4 conference committees––including 100+ Middle School student delegates, numerous support students, teachers, and faculties––the conference exceeded expectations and was a massive success! 

On Saturday morning after arrival, all UNISMUN delegates were excited and ready to jump straight into debating, which marked the start of a fruitful conference. Students, including delegates, chairs, and admins were eager to participate and prepared for any challenges they would encounter. Throughout the 2 day conference, they debated controversial topics, leading to various strikes, and amendments that resulted in the passing or failing of resolutions. 

In our Opening Ceremony, we were honored to have Ms. Silvia Danailov, the UNICEF Representative in Vietnam as our guest speaker. Ms. Danailov especially highlighted the issues of climate change, inspiring our young students to take actions and protect the earth for future generations. Our young MUNers were able to demonstrate great examples of diplomacy and came up with incredible questions for Ms. Danailov about current world issues and her work at UNICEF. 

During the evening of the first day after a delicious banquet that fueled our young scholars with energy,  the UNISMUN leadership team hosted engaging activities like musical chairs, badminton, and “Red light, green light”. These engaging team-bonding activities were able to demonstrate the UNIS value of community and establish great impacts on the younger generation of UNIS Hanoi. 

In the span of 2 days, 3 local schools traveled to UNIS Hanoi with delegates, chairs, and directors who should be recognized for actively participating and supporting the conference. True North School, Alpha School, Nguyen Tat Thanh School were all honorably in attendance.
