On Saturday April 24, 21 ES students competed in this year’s virtual Hanoi Codeathon against Concordia International School and St Paul American School. Participating students were in Grades 3 and 5 and teamed up in groups of three for a day of collaboration and creativity.
Using Scratch, an online drag and drop programming platform, teams worked together to find a way to connect users to climate change. On hand to support our young coders were two computer science students from our High School, Yumin Choi and Dylan Kim. The event kicked-off with a morning ceremony, followed by a period of time for teams to brainstorm, plan and build their game or animation. After lunch, teams presented their ideas, visuals, audio and content in front of a panel of judges.
The winning project from the event was created by three UNIS Hanoi students, Dylan (Grade 5), Yuui (Grade 4) and Junseok (Grade 4).
Congratulations to everyone who participated. Click here to see all the projects created on the day.
