We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support and generosity UNIS Hanoi community have shown towards our donation project. Your contributions have made a significant impact, and we couldn’t have achieved this success without each and every one of you.
Thanks to your collective support, we were able to send substantial donations to the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and Huong La Center on Wednesday September 18th. These organisations are doing transformative work to support vulnerable children and communities, and your kindness has provided them with the resources they need to continue their invaluable work.
Together, we have made a meaningful difference, and this project stands as a testament to what we can accomplish when we unite for a common cause. Thank you once again for your incredible support and for making this journey successful.
Here is what was donated for emergency relief to our Hanoi-based partners in need:
- 725kg rice
- 258 eggs
- 158 liters of milk
- 549 packages of instant noodles
- 92 cans of meat
- 18 liters of cooking oil
- 10 bottles of fish sauce
- Blankets, pots & pans, and snacks
This was also one of many ways of supporting UNIS Hanoi Typhoon Relief efforts, and relief efforts across the nation. Please continue to follow and get involved in ongoing student-led Service-Learning projects to support Typhoon Yagi relief, as we work with our partners to rebuild and heal. Here are two ways to continue your support:
- Emergency Relief Fund: the school has activated UNIS Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) to help provide food, shelter and emergency healthcare to those most vulnerable in our host country—all channeled through our student-led Service Learning groups who are working with their local partners. We have been heartened to see so many in our community contributing in the few short days since we shared this appeal last week. To donate through UNIS Hanoi, please visit our Giving page.
- Giving Tree: Service-Learning groups will continue to engage our community in supporting long-term work in our partner communities across Vietnam through the Giving Tree. Opportunities to collaborate in hands-on direct action, advocacy, and fundraising will be hung on the Giving Tree. Community members can choose to join in a wide selection of actions and support, based on their own interests and passions. The tree will be at the SCO Sparkly Social this weekend, and then will be placed on campus for the upcoming months.
