Tết Trung Thu (Moon Festival) Celebrated by Elementary School

“TẾT TRUNG THU” is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. It is a traditional festival for children and is celebrated on the 15th of August, according to the lunar calendar. This year, Tết Trung Thu falls on October 1, 2020.

The celebration of “Tết Trung Thu” is a highlight of the Vietnamese programme which helps students and the school community to learn more about the host country.

At UNIS Hanoi, we celebrate Tết Trung Thu on September 24, 2020. What a special morning we had when all the Elementary students and teachers came to school in their colourful Áo dài – the Vietnamese traditional dress. Everyone was so excited to watch an online Tết Trung Thu Assembly hosted by Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 5 students who attend the Vietnamese class from 9.25 to 10.15. The Assembly was a musical show based on the story of Cuoi – the boy in the moon. All the performers had shown their amazing efforts in putting the performance together on the stage. You can watch the Assembly again below.

Later on, all the students in the Elementary school had opportunities to express their creativity in making some Tết Trung Thu toys, from painting animals to designing bamboo fans, from painting bamboo masks to decorating dragonflies…

Everyone had a lot of fun celebrating the Tết Trung Thu Celebration at UNIS Hanoi.
