Recognition of Departing Board of Directors

Recognition of Departing Board of Directors

As the 2024-2025 academic year draws to a close, the Board wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the following departing Board members for their exceptional dedication, countless hours of service, and invaluable contributions to the UNIS Hanoi community:

Board-Appointed Director, Michelle Dinh Jones

The Board bids farewell to Michelle Dinh Jones, who has played a significant role in school governance over the past seven years.  Michelle was first elected as a Parent-Elected Board member in 2018, and from 2018-2021, she served on the Committee of Directors and chaired the Fundraising Task Force.  In 2021, she was appointed as a Board-Appointed member and is set to complete her four-year term this year.  During this time, Michelle also served as Board Chair from 2021 to 2024.  The Board thanks Michelle for her steadfast leadership and the lasting impact she has made on both the Board and the UNIS Hanoi community.

Parent-Elected Director, Ananth Chikkatur

The Board extends its gratitude to Ananth Chikkatur for his dedicated service over the past four years.  Ananth was elected to the Board in 2021 and served as Treasurer, leading the Finance Committee throughout his tenure. His deep expertise and steady financial oversight have been instrumental in placing the school on a strong financial footing for the years ahead.  Ananth’s valuable insights and contributions to the Gift Committee further enhanced the school’s development efforts.  While his term on the Board concludes, Ananth will continue to support the school as a member of the Finance Committee.

Board-Appointed Director, Lynne Gadkowski

The Board thanks Lynne Gadkowski for her meaningful contributions to the Board since her appointment in 2022.  Lynne served on the Executive Committee as  Board Secretary from 2022-2024.  She was a vital member of the Head of School Search Task Force (2023-2024) and is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Head of School Transition Task Force (2024-2025), playing a key role in facilitating a seamless and effective transition for the incoming Head of School.  As Lynne and her family prepare to relocate to the Philippines this summer, the Board extends its heartfelt thanks for her dedicated service and wishes them all the best in their new adventure.
