Our students wake up every day knowing that they can make a difference and help build a better world. We have just celebrated SDG Week and UN Day highlighting the commitment of our School to supporting students with their learning to this end.

And now we launch our annual fundraising campaign, when we as a community can join together to turn their ideas into reality.

Our UNIS Impact Fund is designed to turn student dreams into community projects to help our global community achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. We are literally changing the world… together!

This year we are picking up where we left off last year at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our two Impact Fund Big idea Goals for 2020-2021 are:

Solar Energy – Prototyping Renewable Energy

GOAL: To explore and implement solar power at UNIS Hanoi. We will be prototyping solutions in partnership with local agencies, designed to scale with strategic campus planning and which will include rooftop panels creating clean energy partnered with an energy saving campaign. 

UNIS Botanical Garden

GOAL: Greening our campus with a living, learning experience! In addition to establishing a Botanical Garden and oases of plants both indoors and outside, this project will encompass and amplify a multitude of mini learning projects focusing on sustainable solutions. 

Both projects are fully integrated into our curriculum and designed not only to enhance learning but also to make an impact on the global environment. And most importantly these are community projects initiated by students with which our entire community can get involved.

The goals were proposed by students, voted for by our community and are being developed by cross-community task forces with students, teachers and parents all working together on plans which we will fund through the UNIS Impact Fund – money that we will fundraise together.

Last year we raised $43,109 to support these two projects and our goal is to reach $100,000 by the end of this year.
