UNIS Historic Success at APAC Swimming 2026

Throughout the three-day event, our athletes performed at an elite level, dropping personal best times in nearly every race and qualifying in many A and B finals. While we missed the podium on several occasions, one of our swimmers placed 4th by mere milliseconds three separate times, the most emotional moment came during the final event of the meet.

History was made as our Girls 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay team won the Bronze medal! This marks the first APAC Relay medal for UNIS Hanoi since our school joined the conference in 2010.

We would like to say a big thank you to: Coach Ramberg, for her years of dedication to training our athletes. Mr Chagas, our AIC, for his leadership and support of the entire team. The UNIS Activities Department, for managing the logistics of this trip. Our UNIS Parents, who traveled to Shanghai to cheer on every swimmer and of course. Our Swimmers, who gave their all and represented our school with pride.
Last but not least, the UNIS Hanoi team returned home with “The Spirit of APAC” trophy. This award is voted on by one representative from all participating schools.

Throughout the weekend, schools evaluate one another on the ethos of their coaches and the sportsmanship of their swimmers. It recognizes the teams that show respect, helpfulness, and genuine support for both their own teammates and their competitors. Winning this trophy shows the character of our UNIS students and the culture of our program. It proves that while we strive for excellence in the pool, we lead with kindness and integrity outside of it.
