HAC Mathematics Olympiad

On Saturday, 29 November, ten UNIS Middle School students and ten UNIS High School students participated in the HAC Mathematics Olympiad hosted by the Olympia School and Concordia. Ten schools from around Hanoi competed. UNIS got 5th place overall, with a special mention of the UNIS Junior A team taking 5th place out of 20 teams and the UNIS Senior B team taking 4th place out of 19 teams (and 1 point away from taking 3rd place..!).

Competition rounds included a design challenge (build a structure to sort 2 different sized marbles), sudden death math problem solving, and a code-breaking treasure hunt. UNIS students demonstrated excellent critical thinking and collaboration skills.
