Grade 4 students have just completed a unit of inquiry under the trans-disciplinary theme of How We Organise Ourselves. They inquired through the key concepts of responsibility, connection and causation with related concepts of cooperation, systems and impact. Their central idea was “People create organisations to solve problems.”
The principled Grade 4s spent some time evaluating our school campus, searching for successes and issues in the cafeteria, library, outside spaces, bathrooms and in our classrooms. Having completed some problem solving protocols and diving into some systems thinking, they created solutions to some of the issues and worked collaboratively to take action to make our school a safer, happier and healthier place. They are excited to share their action with the community. See below for some photos and please visit this padlet to view some of their action videos.
