Grade 3 Toy Sale
Grade 3 Toy Sale
Grade 3 students held a Toy Sale on Thursday as the culmination of their 'How We Organise Ourselves' unit of inquiry. The central idea of the UOI is, "Economic activities affect people". Students have been learning about needs vs. wants; the difference between goods and services; the parts, people and interactions involved in production of goods and services; ultimately how people and the environment can be impacted negatively or positively.
For their Toy Sale, students brought in their own no-longer-needed toys. They decided on prices, discussed possible ways of persuading buyers to purchase their goods and then set up their stalls. It was a great success! So many customers! So much fun! So much learned!
A big thank you to all those parents who came along to support G3 students as vendors and to all the customers who 'shopped till they dropped'! The money generated from sales will go to the Huong La Center Orphanage along with any unsold toys.
