ES Teacher’s Fundraising Efforts Raises 60,000,000 VND

A photo exhibition and sale of calendars organised by one of our Elementary School teachers has raised a phenomenal 60,000,000 million VND for vulnerable girls. 

In November, Grade 5 teacher and budding amateur photographer, Charlie Moore, produced a one-of-a-kind 2022 calendar and with a grant from the UNIS Impact Fund set up a ‘Textures of Vietnam’ photo exhibition in a bid to raise funds for Blossom House – one of UNIS Hanoi’s Service Learning partners. 

“I first heard about Blossom House through the wonderful work carried out by fellow colleagues and students on behalf of the charity organisation” shared Mr Charlie. “Blossom House provides shelter for vulnerable girls and I’ve witnessed the incredible impact the charity makes on these young people’s lives. That’s why I felt compelled to support them in my own unique way. 

“Sales of my calendars raised 25,000,000 VND and the ‘Textures of Vietnam’ photo exhibition raised an additional 35,000,000 VND. I would like to thank the entire UNIS Hanoi community for purchasing a calendar or bidding on one of my framed photos. You’ve helped make a difference!”

Blossom House is one of 42 UNIS Hanoi Service Learning partners. The amount raised by Mr Charlie will be managed through the UNIS Emergency Relief Fund and will be ring-fenced for Blossom House residents. About the UNIS Emergency Relief Fund
The UNIS Emergency Relief Fund was established in an effort to help Vietnam’s most vulnerable people who have been significantly impacted during the pandemic.
