Emergency Flood Relief Team on Mission

October 2020 has brought one storm after another to provinces in Central Vietnam, where severe rains, flooding and landslides have devastated communities. The UNIS Hanoi Legacy Service Learning group started their Emergency Flood Relief fundraising campaign three weeks ago and this weekend their philanthropy will be put in action.

Their appeal has received an incredible response from our community. THANK YOU to our students, families, faculty and staff who have come together to support the students’ fundraising campaign for the flood victims.

A truck with approximately 500 kilos of clothes and foods will be heading to Central Vietnam from UNIS Hanoi this Sunday. In addition, 274,066,900 VND ($11,700 USD) has been generously donated by the UNIS Hanoi community. These donations, through Nguyen Gia Thao Charity and their partnership with the Red Cross, will support nearly 1000 families in four badly affected villages in Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
