Doubling Impact: Solar Energy at UNIS Hanoi

Doubling Impact: Solar Energy at UNIS Hanoi

We are excited to announce the next step in UNIS Hanoi’s journey towards sustainability: a new solar energy initiative with Solar Electric Vietnam (SEV) and LONGi. This collaboration will see 25 kWp of solar panels (covering 300m²) installed during Spring Break 2025, funded by a generous gift from SEV and LONGi matched by gifts made by our community last year.

This project highlights our shared commitment to a greener future. Over the lifetime of the panels, they will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 456 tonnes—the equivalent of planting 830 trees. This system will power a portion of our school’s daily operations and also serve as an educational tool, inspiring our students to explore and engage with sustainable energy solutions.

In addition to donating half of this infrastructure, SEV and LONGi will host a workshop for students, featuring:

  • An introduction to solar energy and its role in combating climate change.
  • A hands-on session exploring solar panels, inverters, and installation processes.
  • Insights into how companies like SEV and LONGi support sustainability goals in Vietnam.

We are grateful to SEV, LONGi, and the generous support of our community of donors for making this impactful project a reality. Together, we’re powering a brighter, more sustainable future.
