Introducing the first UNIS Hanoi Artist Award

Introducing the first UNIS Hanoi Artist Award

At UNIS Hanoi, we believe in the transformative power of the Arts and the profound impact they have on cultivating well-rounded individuals. It is with great pride that we introduce the first-ever MSHS Visual Art Award, recognizing students who embody the award’s values: Head, Hand, and Heart. This award celebrates the exceptional talents and dedication of students who excel in the Arts through intellectual engagement, practical application, and emotional expression.  The establishment of the Visual Art Award is a testament to UNIS Hanoi’s commitment to celebrating the hard work and creative contributions of our students. By recognizing and encouraging artistic talent, we aim to elevate the profile of the Arts within our school community. We hope this award inspires all students to pursue their artistic passions with vigor and dedication, knowing that their efforts are valued and celebrated.

In honoring one Middle School and one High School VA student this first semester, we celebrate not only their individual achievements but also the vibrant community of artists at UNIS Hanoi. We look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of our students in the Arts, as they embody the values of Head, Hand, and Heart.

The Values of the Celebration of Artists Award:

  • Head: This symbolizes the intellectual engagement and critical thinking that students bring to their art. It highlights their ability to conceptualize, plan, and critique their work, demonstrating a deep understanding of artistic principles and theories.
  • Hand: Representing the technical skills and craftsmanship involved in creating art, this value emphasizes the hands-on efforts students make to bring their ideas to life. It recognizes their proficiency and dedication to refining their skills in various artistic media.
  • Heart: This represents the emotional depth and passion that students infuse into their creations. It acknowledges their ability to connect with their work and express themselves authentically, allowing their art to resonate with others on a personal level.

Honoring Our First Recipients:

We are thrilled to announce our first recipients of the Visual Art Award: Monae, Grade 8 and Paige, Grade 9.

Monae exemplifies the spirit of the Visual Art Award through her unwavering support, kindness, and passion for the Arts. She is a pillar of encouragement in the Art Launch program, consistently offering her assistance and guidance to classmates. In art class, her dedication shines through her hard work, focus, and attentiveness, setting an inspiring example for her peers. Her genuine enthusiasm for art, combined with her compassionate nature, not only enhances her own creative journey but also fosters a collaborative and nurturing environment for everyone around her.

Our HS recipient, Paige, has distinguished herself through her commendable dedication to both the iBlock Art Launch and art class. Her self-driven nature propels her to explore and master the clay medium, culminating in the creation of an impressive large-scale sculpture. Demonstrating initiative and independence, she skillfully utilizes the clay extruder, showcasing her technical prowess. Her ability to remain focused, avoid distractions, and seize opportunities underscores her commitment to achieving her artistic goals. Her perseverance and ambition make her a standout artist and a true embodiment of the Visual Art Award’s values.

As we celebrate the inaugural Visual Art Award, we invite the entire UNIS Hanoi community to join us in applauding the commitment, talents and passion of our students supporting their artistic journeys.
