Building Global Bridges with VLTC 2025
Building Global Bridges with VLTC 2025
We hosted our annual Vietnam Learning Together Conference (VLTC) a few weeks ago with the most ever attendees! 600 local and international teachers came to UNIS Hanoi for a day full of learning, collaboration and exchanging of ideas. A huge thank you to UNIS Hanoi parent Mr Phil Psilos for being the keynote and our 60+ speakers, including two Grade 12 students, Ally and Seln!
The Vietnam Learning Together Conference (VLTC) 2025, themed Unity in Diversity: Building Global Bridges Through Education, stands as a testament to UNIS Hanoi’s dedication to fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth within the teaching community of Hanoi. This annual event brings together educators, school leaders, and technology experts to exchange ideas, share best practices, and build connections that strengthen education across Vietnam and beyond.
A Conference Designed for Connection and Growth
VLTC 2025 is not just a gathering; it is a platform where teachers from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, collaborate, and innovate. The conference serves as a bridge between educators, equipping them with new tools, strategies, and knowledge to enrich their teaching practices and ultimately benefit their students. The key focus is on uniting different perspectives and experiences to enhance education through meaningful professional development.
One of the most impactful aspects of this conference is the peer-to-peer learning environment. Educators are not just passive participants; they actively share their expertise and insights. A teacher from the primary school division introduced 3D printing and model design to local teachers, providing hands-on training that enabled them to integrate this cutting-edge technology into their own classrooms. Another session focused on digital collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Flip, showing educators how to enhance student engagement and global connectivity through virtual exchanges.
The Role of AI and Technology in Education
Technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), played a prominent role in VLTC 2025. This year’s conference featured AI-powered translation tools, ensuring inclusivity for all participants regardless of language barriers. AI’s role in education was further explored in workshops focusing on how machine learning and automation can assist teachers with administrative tasks, freeing up time for more personalised student interactions. However, discussions also centred around ethical considerations—how can we integrate AI in a way that enhances education without compromising human connection?
One of the key takeaways from these discussions was that while technology and AI can be powerful teaching assistants, they can never replace the invaluable role of educators. VLTC 2025 reinforced the idea that human relationships and mentorship remain at the core of effective learning.
Giving Back to the Hanoi Teaching Community
Beyond professional development, VLTC 2025 represents a deeper commitment to giving back to the Hanoi teaching community. As an international school, UNIS Hanoi believes in the power of shared learning and ensuring that educational opportunities extend beyond its own student body.
The conference provides free training and workshops to local teachers, empowering them with new methodologies and technologies that they might not have easy access to otherwise. This initiative bridges the gap between international and local schools, reinforcing the idea that education is not bound by institution but thrives through collaboration.
The Power of Bridges in Education
A powerful metaphor ran through the keynotes and discussions at VLTC 2025—the bridge. Education serves as a bridge connecting different perspectives, cultures, and methodologies. Teachers build bridges between students and knowledge, between theory and practice, and between the present and the future.
Looking Forward
With another successful VLTC behind us, we look ahead to how we can continue to nurture collaboration and professional development within Hanoi’s educational landscape. The power of unity in diversity has never been more evident. As we move forward, let’s continue to exchange ideas, build relationships, and support each other in creating learning environments where every student thrives.
