Counsellor, Lori Fairbairn is thrilled to share some exciting insights from her recent attendance at the BMI Times Higher Education Global International Schools Forum & Workshop in London, England. This event tailored for high school counsellors, provided a remarkable opportunity to connect, learn, and discover new opportunities for our students.
During the forum, counsellors from over 50 countries gathered to exchange ideas, share best practices, and network with peers. The chance to engage with fellow counselors from diverse backgrounds offered invaluable perspectives and enriched our understanding of global education trends.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to have private meetings with senior admission staff and representatives from over 80 universities worldwide. These meetings provided a platform to address any questions regarding entry requirements, application procedures, deadlines, and scholarship opportunities.
Moreover, participating in expert-level personal development sessions as part of the Times Higher Education Counsellor Accreditation Program (THE CAP) was truly enlightening. These sessions equipped us with valuable insights and strategies to better support our students in their academic and personal growth journey.
On top of that, we had the privilege to tour prestigious institutions like Oxford University, engage with academic leaders such as the Provost of University College London, and explore new program offerings at King’s College London. These experiences not only broadened our knowledge but also inspired us to guide our students towards impactful academic pathways.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of the fantastic programs and opportunities I learned about during the forum. As we guide our children through the exciting journey of choosing the right university, it’s essential to explore diverse opportunities and innovative programs that align with their interests and aspirations. Stay tuned for more insights and exciting updates!
