Adopt a senior through Spanish writing

Una carta para un abuelo (A letter for a senior) is the service learning initiative that our students of Spanish have been working on lately, a testament to our values of responsibility and community and the IB attribute of caring. 

A letter for a senior is an initiative by www.adoptaunabuelo.org , a Spanish NGO supporting senior citizens living in residences with limited or no family support. For the past few years, this organisation has promoted the importance of empathy and messages of kindness as part of the well-being of seniors. 

This year, for the first time, UNIS Hanoi and our Spanish learners have been involved in writing letters for some of the 360,000 seniors awaiting holiday wishes. The project has been an opportunity to work with writing skills across all levels and courses. An estimate of more than 100 letters are on their way. 

Letters will be delivered as scanned copies to the organisation arranging printing and delivery. The whole magic journey can be seen here.
