On Saturday 20 March, Secondary students gathered in the Centre for the Arts to spend a day for all things Art and creativity. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions the MRISA AX festival was cancelled for the second year in a row so we decided to bring the creative energy to UNIS Hanoi!
The day began with an introduction from visiting artist and workshop teacher, Victoria Spence Naik of Line Study Studio. Her opening address encouraged a mantra of creating every day, no matter the medium or subject.
The day was then split into two sessions of workshops, allowing participants to try new mediums and technologies for two hours each. Session one of the day included five workshops including Film & Sound Art, 3D Printing, Drawing & Watercolor, Lacquer and Cosmic drip painting. Session two offered Portrait Photography, Felting, Laser cutting, and Pop dance/choreography.
The day concluded with a showcase of the art and designs created by participants. The dance, films and student band The Last Minute were enjoyed in the theatre and live stream with the visual art and design work on display in the B10 foyer.
The art, designs, dance, and fun created memories to last a lifetime. We are already looking forward to next year!
