2020-21 Annual Report Message from the Head of School

I’m delighted to present our highlights for the 2020-2021 academic year through this Annual Report. For those who were with us last year, you’ll recall that unlike much of the rest of the world, we were fortunate enough to experience more than 100 days of face-to-face learning before a sharp pivot to Distance Learning in semester two. Once again, as a community, we showed fortitude during a semester of grave uncertainty. We found ways to still give our students the quality experiences we’re known for. Our Grade 5 students engaged in the PYPx via zoom, building a phenomenal website that showcased their thinking and subsequent actions. Our Middle School Council successfully campaigned for their peers to think sustainably and give to those less fortunate. Our Grade 10 students produced videos describing their Personal Projects and the processes they undertook and our Class of 2021 admirably sat their IB Diploma exams while the rest of Hanoi was under lockdown. Furthermore, we remained committed to offering a comprehensive virtual co-curricular programme and also began our Botanical Garden and Solar Power project - two student-led initiatives close to our hearts. I’m full of gratitude for who we are as a community and how successfully we came together.

The information you’ll find in this report demonstrates our new mission statement in action. Launched in May 2021, our new mission is our promise to our students and families that; Guided by UN values, we inspire all learners to strive for academic and personal excellence and empower students to create positive, sustainable impact.

Additionally, this report is presented under our six new values  - curiosity, diversity, community, integrity, responsibility and courage - principles we hold dear as a School and strive to role model to students.

Thank you once again for trusting us with what is most precious to you - your children.

Yours sincerely,

Jane McGee
