UNIS Hanoi Pool is Now Open for Student PE Lessons

Rob Thomas Concert & Rockin' with Rob Day
The Elementary Student Council is thrilled to announce that we collected 6,708,400 VND + $6US in donations for the Thuy An Orphanage. Thank you everybody who donated, and thanks Rob for the music.

 

Saturday Soccer Highlights
We are half way through our Saturday Soccer programme. Unfortunately, we are now full and unable to take any more registrations for this popular program of Soccer for Pre-School, Elementary School and Middle/High School.

 

Sri Lanka Visit by Elementary Principal
Elementary Principal Colleen Breheney recently travelled to Sri Lanka. As part of this holiday, she was able to take the monies from the UNIS Tsunami Fund Raising efforts to the two schools identified to receive assistance.

 

Sri Lankan Dance Ensemble
Last week, UNIS students were treated to a performance by the Channa-Upuli Dance Ensemble from Sri Lanka.

 

College Night - 16 February 2006
Planning for your child’s college education can never start too early, but for parents with students in Grades 10 or 11 this is an important time to begin preparing in earnest. On Thursday, February 16th , there will be a program for parents about the college admissions process for colleges and universities.

 

National Danish Performance Team leaps to UNIS
On Tuesday February 7th The National Danish Performance team performed at UNIS. The team was here for a whole day and provided workshops for grade 3-5 and for grade 6 -8 students in the morning.

 

Photo Exhibition by Kate Lynch - 16 February 2006 @ 6pm
Come along and see the creative endeavour of one of our UNIS Kindergarten teachers. Kate Lynch is having an exhibition which will be launched on Thursday. The exhibition will be on display throughout February and March at Le Pub, 25 Hang Be St. It's a series of photos that tell a tale, in the style of a comic strip. These have been done in a Vietnamese computer lab, on Photoshop. The photos are available for purchase. Thanks for your support.

 

Scholastic Red House Book
Scholastic Red House Book catalogs have been sent home with students in Discovery to Grade 8. This catalog is a great opportunity to order English language books and help support the school library.

 

2005 KOTO Mountain Challenge Ride
On Saturday November 26 close to 50 cyclists and volunteer supporters, amongst whom 9 UNIS teachers and 5 students, took on the 75 km 2005 Mountain Challenge Ride.

 

Balinese Dancers at UNIS Hanoi
The Declaration between the Vietnam and Indonesia on the Framework of Friendly and Comprehensive Partnership Entering the 21st Century, and the recent visit of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to Vietnam in May 2005, has become the core elements of the music arrangements and dances.

 

PTA Social Evening - 30 September 2005
The first PTA Social Evening of the school year was held at jafa, a newly opened restaurant/ bar near the school. Parents, teachers, school administrators and school Board members streamed to the event from 6pm and mingled around into the night.

 

Hanoi Moi Run Tournament – For Peace
UNIS Hanoi was represented by five runners in the “Hanoi Moi Run Tournament –For Peace" around Hoan Kiem Lake last Sunday, October 2nd. The Head of School, Mr Alun Cooper; Head of Physical Education, Mr. Jarrod Dale;

 

UNIS Hanoi welcomes Mariachi - 22 September 2005
All of our students from Discovery to 12th Grade came together in the school canteen to listen and watch the incredible talents of the Mariachi Group from the Republic of Mexico.

 
UNIS Orientation Day - 19 August 2005
An orientation session was held today for all parents and students. A brief introduction about the school system and curriculam was presented for all grade levels. This was an excellent opportunity especially for for newly arrived families to get familiar with our school.
