Alumni
Received: 15 November 2007
Wow, I was looking through some of my old stuff recently and came across the little booklet with the Vietnamese flag on it in which everyone wrote their goodbyes to me. It brought back so many memories and so I decided to look up UNIS on the web. Thats how I came across this alumni. My first year at UNIS wasn't the best. I didn't enjoy it very much and actually wanted to leave. But things came around and I experienced some of the best times I have ever had. I miss Hanoi and UNIS a lot. All those times playing basketball with friends after school or when we went to Hue, Cat ba and many other parts of Vietnam. Those memories will stay with me forever. After I left UNIS in 2003 I returned home to India and stayed there for a week. From there I left for Edmonton, Canada where I finished my last year of high school. Today I am taking a degree in Software development at a College in Toronto. I've looked through the alumni and there are names that I actually recognize. Its nice to see what has become of people after such a long time. I'd love to hear from any of you and reminisce old memories. Thanks for the great times! Received: 30 October 2007
After UNIS I went to SSHL in Sweden for a year only to realize that I was jealous of my family who had moved on to Beijing, so after that one year I went to Beijing where I graduated from the International School of Beijing in 2000. Then I took a year 'off' in China and worked at an NGO, studied Chinese at a local university and taught Chinese to the kids at the Swedish school. Right NOW I am at Stockholm University studying history and social studies and plotting ways to get back out into the international community. It would be great to get back in touch with the whole lot of you, so do e-mail me. (April 2002) Just thought I'd let everyone know that I just had a baby! A boy that we have named Hugo. Am I the first one out or did anyone beat me to it? So if anyone remembers the swede with the sick addiction to The Sound of Music please write! It would be great to get back in touch with all of you! (Feb 2006)

Shout outs to all!!! I was a student at UNIS from 1995 to 1997. I had to admit, that these were probably THE best days of my life. I will remember those days for ever. After leaving Hanoi I went back to Poland, where I got my IB and went to law school for 2 years (law school is not post-graduate in Europe!). During that time I also got involved in several IT ventures, as well as working as a journalist for an internet business monthly. In 2001 I moved to Strasbourg, France where I continued studying law for a year. However, my continuing interest in the IT field led me to quitting law and switching to a Management of IT major. Currently, I'm studying in Heidelberg, Germany and have been accepted
for a Masters programme at the International Space University in Strasbourg.
Last week, I launched the first issue of the third cultural "Sushi"
e-zine. Sushi is a new lifestyle magazine targeted to people of multicultural
background. Check it out at
After I left UNIS I went back to Germany to visit 2 boarding schools in south Germany until the baccalaureate. After my Army Service and a little holiday, I started to study Economics and International Relationships. I think I don't exaggerate if I say that my time at UNIS was more than great. I need some time and experience to realize that this was something special in many ways. Schools in Germany and also Europe are a lot different not only in the way of teaching, also in a social way. I'm happy to see some old names which are familiar to me like Nalini, Michael, Sam, Preya, NorAyne and so on. Feel free to drop an Email and greetings to everyone who knows me.
i started my schooling in UNIS from kindergarten to Grade 2. My teacher for all three years was Ms. Carmel McCormick (from Australia). i miss her very much. later on i did my Grade 3-5 in India. and right now i am here at the Anglo-American School of Sofia from 2004. Regards to all. Jayant
