A Global Warning !!!

The ‘Lines of Inquiry’ were:

  • Actively conserving our environment
  • Finite and renewable resources and how we can sustainably use them
  • The changes to our environment and the issues we face
  • Our responsibility with limited resources
From the students perspective:    We had a ‘Country Case Study’ about a country and what they are doing to the environment. We then had a little project where we had to find out facts on an environmental issue. All through the Exhibition we had guest speakers come in to talk to us about the Exhibition.  From there we got the final product in our interest groups. The interest groups were History, Literacy, Science, Sport, and Photography, I.T., Drama and Nature. In those groups we each had a large project of our choice that we had to research and make. The science group made a DVD documentary and the literacy group made a newspaper. The drama group made the production and the I.T. group made a movie about the process of the Exhibition. The sports group made games for outside and the nature group had facts on endangered animals. The history group had a treasure hunt and the photography group had pictures and comic strips. At the end of the Exhibition all the Grade 5 Students were in the production that the drama group made. The production was called “I Need to Wake Up.” It was a really great exhibition from beginning to end and we are sure that all of the Grade 5 Students will not only remember it forever, but also change the way we live.
