Stepping in Bangkok

The UNIS students gave stellar performances, and the NIST students were a great audience -- and great workshop participants!

Stepping is a bit like South African gumboot dancing and came of age in American university sororities and fraternities during the 1980’s.  It’s very aggressive and highly choreographed, and students love it.  It’s loud, fast and furious!  The experience at NIST was so positive that ‘Dragonfly’ steppers are hoping both schools can get together again next year for a bit of a ‘step off’.  If you’d like more information on how to step, you can see some videos of David Cameron teaching other music teachers at the East Asian Regional Council of Overseas Schools’ Teacher Conference.  This conference was held in Kuala Lumpur in April.  Video is located at the EARCOS  website at www.earcosmusicteachers.ning.com.  Feel free to email Mr Cameron with questions dcameron@unishanoi.org.

You can also go to Mr Cameron’s blog at www.teampeacedove.org.  Leave a comment if you wish!
