Saturday 21 April 2007 was our swim team’s first ever “Pizza Meet” in which nearly 50 of our swimmers from Elementary to High school competed for great prizes. A fun, friendly yet spirited atmosphere filled the day as teammates raced each other in a variety of sprint events.
Swimmers and spectators together also enjoyed an after-meet pizza party as we celebrated a wonderful day of performances and success.
Many thanks go out to our generous sponsors – J.a.f.a., Megastar Cineplex and Coca-Cola Sabco – whose contributions made this a memorable event for all. And of course to our fantastic parents who volunteered their best, the day could not have happened without you; thank you very, very much!
Nearly all swimmers set a personal best time on the day, and of special note are the following whose accomplishments set or broke a total of 25 UNIS records: Sabine Haspels, Shizuka Oinaga, Elena Cornaro, Victoria Rudolph-Stinger, Margret Barclay, Nina Reinhardt, Daan Schuttenbelt, Jenna Vogel, Callum Kilpatrick, Jacob van der Poel, Daniel Pincus, Kento Shinoda, Stephan Evers, Masaru Oinaga, Nicholas Shell, Duc Hiep Nguyen and Phil Pincus! Congratulations to all of you!
Stay tuned for information regarding our May 12 Invitational Swim Meet once again at our own facility. Mark your calendars for exciting swimming and the chance to see a once-a-year event you won’t want to miss!
