Hue & Hoi An
Grade 8 Field Trip Week, March 2007

The grade 8 students and teachers traveled to Hue and Hoi An.  The students had been studying the history of Vietnam in Humanities class and they saw many of the historical places of interest that they learn about in school.  They visited the Hue citadel, the Cham temples at My Son and the tunnels at Vinh Moc.  In addition, the students also had an opportunity to visit two schools for the blind.  The students had previously raised money through bake sales which went to purchase materials needed by these schools.  The students enjoyed watching musical performances put on by these students.  Some of the UNIS students did their own musical pieces and then they all helped cleaning up around the school.  Finally in Hoi An, the students saw a number of historical sites in the city.  In addition, the students had designed clothing in Art class and they took their designs to Hoi An.  They had a tailor create their designs which they modeled for their peers.
