ECC Learning Journey
ECC, 30 November 2006

On November 30th the parents, caregivers and children of the Early Childhood Centre went on a journey of discovery and learning. The morning began with a morning tea for parents before they went to the classrooms to discover what and how the children are learning. The children had prepared a variety of interactive activities that they had explored in the classroom during their Units of Inquiry. The parents were invited to come and learn with them. The Kindergarten parents were taken on a journey of learning about animals and were provided opportunities to sort animals into categories, read books, and visit a zoo. The Discovery and Pre-K parents learnt about clothes that we wear. The children showed their parents experiments on cloth and boots, sorted clothes and washed clothes. They could watch Vietnamese people make “Non” and make their own paper doll.

Parents said,

“It was wonderful thank you for the invitation.”

“The children seem to enjoy what they do at school. Great opportunity for parents. Thank you”

“ I had even more fun than my boys! Thanks!”

“To ECC staff I enjoyed having my face painted by my daughter. Thanks-beautiful work!.”

“Thank you for a fun and educational morning. Great work teachers and kids.”

These are just a few of the many displays and activities that were available on the day.  Please take time to look at our photos of this great day.
