Early Childhood Centre (ECC)

The ECC provides a safe, secure, and vibrant educational setting for the youngest UNIS students at our campus from Discovery (age three) through Kindergarten. UNIS provides programmes designed especially for the needs of these active three, four, and five year olds.

Classes are inviting and encourage exploration. They provide children with a space where learning is enjoyable and where teachers and children are partners in open-ended discovery and problem solving and where students have plenty of opportunity to interact with each other.

All classes are led by expatriate teachers trained in early childhood education with the able support of Vietnamese teacher assistants. Specialist teachers conduct classes in Music, Vietnamese, PE and Art. Students visit the UNIS school library weekly for book exchange and an introduction to using libraries. ECC students have opportunity for both indoor and outdoor play in our purpose built centre.

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to become engaged in the ECC. UNIS knows that parents are important elements of the classroom, especially in the first years of formal education to provide a pattern of open communication for teachers, students, and parents to support one another in their educational endeavors.

• Discovery Programme for children 3 years of age by November 1
• Pre-Kindergarten Programme for children 4 years of age by November 1
• Kindergarten Programme for children 5 years of age by November 1
