Middle School Immersion Programme
(From Grades 6-8)
The English as an Additional Language, (EAL) Immersion Programme offers individualized language learning, in a well-resourced environment, to students whose English language proficiency is still in the early developmental stages (phases 1 and 2) in Grades 6 to 8.
The programme provides an alternative entry point for students who do not yet have enough English to gain full access to the UNIS Hanoi mainstream curriculum.
There are no additional tuition fees for this programme.
Students in this programme will receive intensive language support through small class(es), individualized schedules and support in mainstream classes. The small class(es) will be taught by a highly qualified and experienced EAL Immersion specialist teacher.
Each student will belong to an appropriate Grade Level homeroom. They will be allocated language and social buddies who from the first day will assist them to become familiar with their new school environment, involve them in grade level activities and introduce them to their grade level peers.
The amount of time each student spends in the Immersion class during each week will vary depending on their individual needs and previous educational background.
UNIS Hanoi prides itself on the level of pastoral care available to its students. The Immersion class teacher, homeroom teacher and Middle School Counsellor are available to help with any aspects of academic, social and emotional or personal issues that the students may need to discuss.
